The railway passes through the main city of Cochin, nearly 14 kms from Fort Cochin by road. There are two major railway stations, the Ernakulam Town Railway Station and the Ernakulam Junction Railway Station. Both the stations are in close proximity and are easily accessible to and from Fort Cochin. Depending on the train you chose and the place you are coming from, the station where you have to alight may differ. You can confirm this from the route of the train which you take or even from the train ticket.

Getting Down at The railway Stations 

Depending on which station you would reach, you can proceed to Fort Cochin by road either in a Cab, or Auto Rickshaw. An easier alternative is to take the Ferry to Fort Kochi. This option saves a lot of time and money apart from offering a spectacular cruise through the backwater of Cochin. Alternatively, you can also reach Fort Cochin, in the A/c Low-floor Bus.
